We search for a driven shipping professional with a proven track record in the dry bulk business.
KGJS is an international ship owning company with commercial and operational activity in the dry bulk and product tanker segments. Through Bulk Trading Group (BTG), we own and operate a fleet of 4 x 81,000 dwt highly fuel efficient Kamsarmax bulkers. KGJS also has a strong position in the market for large LR2 product tankers through a joint venture between our subsidiary SKS and Hayfin Capital’s Greentankers. KGJS was founded in 1967 by Kristian Gerhard Jebsen and is owned and controlled by Hans Peter Jebsen and his family. The head office is located in Bergen, with a branch office in Singapore. We have ambitions to further grow and develop our dry bulk activities and are looking for our new Head of Dry Bulk. This role is crucial for the further success of KGJS's and will be a key member in the senior management team. The position reports to CEO and workplace will be KGJS Headquarter in Bergen.

Main responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for commercial management and business development of KGJS’ Dry Bulk segment
- Drive the development of KGJS dry bulk business, including but not limited to sale and purchase, newbuilding opportunities, market intelligence, business relations
- Ensure the best possible employment of the KGJS dry bulk fleet
- Manage Forward Freight Agreement (FFA) as part of dry bulk commercial platform.
- Develop market views, including short and long-term market forecasts
- Head of dry bulk commercial departments
- Member of the KGJS management team
- Regular reporting of results and forecasts
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications, abilities and experience:
- Have a strong commercial mindset, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Able to identify and pursue commercial opportunities which contribute to business growth and profitability
- Want to make an impact, convince and persuade others, and promote plans and ideas successfully
- Have strong interpersonal skills and manage to build positive relationships at all levels internally as well as externally
- Have excellent negotiation skills with good understanding of contractual terms and conditions
- Educational background is not as important as your business sense and your understanding of the commercial aspects in the dry bulk business
- Irrespective of your background, we expect that you have solid knowledge about the dry bulk industry, shipping trends and thoroughly understands customer drivers, needs and requirements
